Tektronix has added an eight-channel model to its flagship 7 Series oscilloscope line, and much of the attention it has drawn has gone to the computer it houses as part of the configuration.

The DPO718AX hosts a 12-core AMD EPYC processor, an Nvidia T1000 graphics card, 96GB of RAM, a removable NVMe SSD with at least 1.6TB of capacity, a 15.6-inch 1080p touchscreen, and an optional Windows 10 drive, all in a chassis that Tektronix's datasheet puts at 38.1kg.

This has drawn sharp comparisons to actual Windows-based PCs amid a RAM and memory shortage, including one by CNX Software, which said that the instrument "looks like a high-end PC running Linux (or Windows 10 LTSC)."

A powerful PC in its own right, albeit with dated components

None of the computer hardware listed for the DPO718AX is new or recently released. The AMD EPYC Embedded 3351 CPU is one of the oldest hardware offerings in play here, featuring AMD's first-generation Zen cores and a February 2018 release date.

While the SSD storage speed is unspecified, it is safe to assume it will be capped by the PCIe 3.0 support the EPYC CPU provides to the system. The 96GB of memory on offer can also safely be assumed to be DDR4, as the CPU supports only DDR4 configurations. Despite these limitations, the CPU does offer a 12-core, 24-thread configuration with a rated boost clock of 3GHz that should handle most tasks with relative ease.

The Nvidia T1000 GPU is an entry-level, workstation-class GPU built around its Turing architecture, with a release date of May 2021. The oscilloscope comes with an FHD touch-screen display and can output video up to QHD via DisplayPort, with a capped refresh rate of 60Hz.

The oscilloscope can also run Windows 10 natively, and it matters more than you might think: it is required for the compliance and RF analysis software the DPO718AX supports. The DPOs do not come with an installation by default; the Windows 10 LTSC 2021 installation is available on a secondary, removable drive that users can opt for if needed.

Since the integrated AMD CPU supports TPM 2.0, you could theoretically run Windows 11 on a device that costs hundreds of thousands of dollars, but the aging hardware, low-clocked CPU, and dated internals would make it a terrible PC replacement, even if one had the money to splurge on such an endeavor.

Rainbow Six Tactics won't let fans repeatedly play the same Operator like in Rainbow Six Siege, but will encourage players to experiment with the entire roster using two new gameplay systems instead.

Rainbow Six Siege fans have a favorite Operator, whether it's Ash, Smoke, Fuze, Hibana, or someone else on the massive roster. But in Rainbow Six Tactics, Ubisoft's turn-based tactics spin-off, the fatigue and injury systems will force players to try other characters across a variety of missions.

"It's a way to push players to use their tools and shuffle their roster," game director Martial Potron told TechRadar Gaming at Gamescom. "So fatigue is one way, injuries is another way."

Potron explained that Operators are human beings, so it makes sense that these special agents will be out of commission for some time if they get injured during a mission; unlike in Siege, where objective-based game rounds will reset a player's health each time.

"I think it's also a good way to remind people that Operators are humans," the director said. "A bullet is a bullet. It's very dangerous. That's why reconning is important. If you don't recon, it may happen that there is someone hidden and he shoots you, and and you get you get injured. You don't have your Operator for two missions."

He added that the fatigue system serves the same purpose and "forces players to readjust their roster" whenever they send Operators on missions; he said this may seem negative, but the game will inform players which Operators will fit certain missions.

For example, a mission that requires players to save targets wouldn't suit Ash, who uses explosives, so a more close-range or precise Operator would be best.

"So depending on who I am facing, I will also readjust my roster because they really are meant to counter other enemies," Portron said. "So there is this negative side of humanity, and there is a positive side of Operators being very good against some part of the challenges."

Rainbow Six Tactics arrives in 2027 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.

Ford's upcoming Fathom electric truck could have a very unusual addition: a small front trunk that could house a TV, for the ultimate tailgating upgrade.

As Electrek reports, Ford has filed a patent with several diagrams showing a fold-out, tailgate-style area in the front of an unnamed vehicle that's believed to be the Fathom.

The design takes advantage of EVs' lack of a traditional engine compartment, which means you can have storage space at the front of the car or truck. It appears to offer a large, flat space like you'd find in a pickup such as Ford F-150 Lightning, plus a fold-out tailgate that can be used for multiple purposes, including holding a TV, presumably to be powered by the battery while you sit in camp chairs with a six-pack.

What the patents say about Ford's Fathom's frunk

The design looks well-suited to tailgate parties, and for camping trips and anywhere else a TV might be watched — so for example if you were selling products at a market you could use the back of the Fathom to carry your goods and your stall and your tailgate TV to show the promo video.

And you shouldn't need to worry about the TV draining your battery: the Fathom is expected to have a large battery for over 300 miles of range, so a TV isn't going to make a big dent in that capacity.

The TV isn't the only interesting idea here. The patent suggests that the top of the hood could be swappable, enabling you to replace it so you can put things on it — such as food or tools — without spoiling your vehicle's finish. Presumably the design would also include a storage space for those swappable bits rather having you leave them lying loose around on the frunk's floor.

As for the rest of the upcoming EV, Ford has been drip-feeding details for months now: it's a midsize pickup with more passenger room than a Toyota RAV4, it's launching in early 2027 and it'll have a surprisingly low starting price of $28,350. It comes with Apple Maps integration, CarPlay and Android Auto.

What we don't know yet is what it really looks like: as you can see from the image at the top of the article, the images Ford have released so far are camouflaged. But from what we've seen of the shape it looks suitably tough, and it's priced very aggressively. Ford promises that the camo will come off in 2027.

FEVM has unveiled a new compact desktop system pairing the Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor with a 24GB RTX 5090 Laptop GPU.

The pairing sits inside FEVM's FA80G chassis, a compact system built around AMD's AM5 desktop platform rather than mobile silicon components.

The flagship processor contains 16 cores, reaches 5.7GHz and carries 144MB of cache through AMD’s 3D V Cache technology.

Ryzen 9 9950X3D and RTX 5090 pack serious power

FEVM allows the processor to receive up to 90W, while the accompanying RTX 5090 Laptop GPU can receive up to 150W.

Nvidia’s mobile graphics processor has 10,496 CUDA cores, 24GB of GDDR7 memory and 896GB/s memory bandwidth.

It also supports hardware ray tracing, DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation, giving the FA80G several features associated with current high-end PC gaming.

The desktop processor is equally important, as the 9950X3D is designed for high-performance gaming workloads rather than conventional mobile computing.

This mini PC also supports up to 128GB of DDR5 memory via two slots, while two M.2 2280 connectors support drives reaching 4TB.

FEVM separates processor and graphics cooling, assigning four heat pipes to each component across the device’s internal thermal arrangement.

The company rates full load noise at 42dB, with CPU temperatures below 85°C and GPU temperatures below 80°C.

For connectivity, this device includes HDMI 2.0, HDMI 2.1, two DisplayPort 2.0 outputs, USB-C, USB-A, an SD reader and dual 2.5GbE.

FEVM has the hardware for a serious M5 Ultra gaming comparison

In comparison to Apple’s top M5 Ultra Mac Studio, the FA80G takes a more conventional high-end PC approach to gaming hardware.

The M5 Ultra offers up to 36 CPU cores, 80 GPU cores, 512GB unified memory and 1.2TB/s memory bandwidth.

Apple also includes hardware-accelerated ray tracing, Neural Accelerators and a 32-core Neural Engine within its highest M5 Ultra configuration.

Those specs give the Mac Studio substantial graphics and compute resources for professional rendering, video production and artificial intelligence workloads.

For gaming, however, the FA80G CPU and GPU combo fits the Windows PC gaming environment more directly.

It also supports DLSS 4, ray reconstruction, frame generation and Multi Frame Generation across its RTX 50 series gaming hardware.

Apple supports advanced gaming technologies through Metal, MetalFX and its Game Porting Toolkit, including tools for bringing Windows games onto Mac.

That means the M5 Ultra is capable of modern gaming, but developers must still account for Apple’s Metal-based gaming environment.

The FEVM instead combines established Windows gaming hardware with Nvidia’s dedicated graphics stack and AMD’s gaming-focused desktop processor.

For a device specifically judged by gaming hardware, that makes the FA80G’s specification unusually aggressive for a 2.6-liter system.

Picking the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE to be your next phone would be a good decision. But whether it’s the best decision is the chewier question.

As has been the case for the past several years, Samsung has launched one final version of its Galaxy S flagship phones just before summer is out (in the US and UK, at least). This “Fan Edition” device aims to provide a more streamlined experience, focused on camera capabilities and AI, at a more approachable price.

However, Samsung has this all backwards. The Galaxy S26 FE’s cameras range from OK to weak, and the AI tools will soon be available on older models. Plus, the price hike this year makes the phone a little less of a bargain.

Arguably, the real reasons you’ll want a Galaxy S26 FE are its big screen, fast charging, strong battery life, and surprisingly good gaming performance. But then, if those are your priorities, you may still be better off looking elsewhere.

The Galaxy S26 FE first went on sale on September 4, 2026. It costs $699 / £699 / AU$1,149 for the standard version, which is $50 / £50 / AU$50 more than the Galaxy S25 FE cost when it launched.

As a result, it means there’s a $200 / £180 / AU$400 difference between this phone and the cheapest full-fat Samsung Galaxy S26, or a $400 / £400 / AU$700 gap if you compare it to the similarly-sized Galaxy S26 Plus. However, those Galaxy S26 models have twice as much storage as the S26 FE by default, which makes direct comparison a little complicated.

Also, keep in mind that you get six free months of Google AI Pro (worth about $120 / £114 / AU$200 at current subscription prices) with the purchase of the S26 FE. It’s an offer worth taking advantage of for the 5TB of cloud storage capacity alone, let alone the extra Gemini powers.

Before we continue, here’s a rundown of the Galaxy S26 FE’s hardware.

Samsung Galaxy S26 FE review: Design

• No major updates from previous model other than new colors
• Worthy of the Galaxy S name in terms of looks and durability

Looks-wise, there are no major body changes between the Galaxy S26 FE and the S25 FE — not that Samsung really needed to make any.

You still have three camera lenses embedded directly into the back of the phone, then flat rails with rounded corners around the sides, leading to a big display with a single centered selfie camera on the front.

Unless you’re able to tell the S26 FE apart from a regular S26 by the color of the handset, the big telltales that you’re holding an FE are the shiny back panel, instead of a matte texture, and the larger chin bezel under the display.

Speaking of colors, Samsung’s three offerings are Graphite, Blueberry and Pistachio (pictured). The gray option will satisfy anyone who isn’t fussed about the color of their phone, or who knows they’ll be using a case to add some style to their new handset, but I do like both the blue and pale green options for the balance they strike between boldness and subtlety.

Like the other Galaxy S26 models, the S26 FE is rated IP68 for water/dust-resistance, which we expect from any flagship phone launching today. However, it uses Gorilla Glass Victus Plus on both sides to protect against scratches and smashes, which is a generation behind what you get on the S26 or S26 Plus.

Samsung Galaxy S26 FE review: Display

• Big and colorful, but lower-spec resolution and brightness
• Larger bezels than other Galaxy S phones

The 6.7-inch AMOLED display of the Galaxy S26 FE matches the size of the Galaxy S26 Plus’ display, but that’s where the similarities end. The FE’s panel only reaches an FHD resolution, rather than the Plus’ more detailed QHD, and peaks at 1,900 nits of brightness according to Samsung’s testing, rather than the 2,600-nit rating of the other S26 models.

Even though the S26 FE can’t deliver as much brightness or as many pixels as Samsung’s top-tier displays, the detail and the colors of the FE’s panel are still strong, and the screen remains fairly legible even out in what remains of the summer sun.

The bezels around the Galaxy S26 FE’s display are thicker than they are on the Galaxy S26 Plus or other premium Samsung phones, which is an understandable limitation given the FE’s lower price. It doesn’t interfere with whatever you want to watch on the screen, but it’s a difference you’ll notice if you have used other recent Galaxy S phones.

Samsung Galaxy S26 FE review: Software

• Samsung’s latest OS comes pre-installed
• Seven more generations of updates have been promised

The Galaxy S26 FE comes pre-installed with OneUI 9, Samsung’s take on Android 17. That actually puts it ahead of the other Galaxy S26 models, which currently can only access OneUI 9 as a beta version.

OneUI 9 gives the FE a lot of tools to play with. My FanCam — the video subject tracking tool which just debuted on the much more expensive Galaxy Z Fold 8/ Galaxy Flip 8 series — is here and works just as capably. That’s joined by other AI-powered editing features like Photo Assist and Audio Eraser.

Meanwhile, for productivity, you have Now Brief and its new custom cards option to give you even more personalized updates all in one place, more supported apps for Now Nudge, plus expanded cross-app functions and Gemini.

Perhaps most importantly for the Galaxy S26 FE, it comes with Samsung’s full seven generations of Android and seven years of security updates promise. That’s the same as other Galaxy S models, and one additional year over what the cheaper Galaxy A57 gets, which is crucial for the value proposition of the S26 FE.

Samsung Galaxy S26 FE review: Cameras

• Minor upgrades but identical sensors to previous model
• The main and selfie cameras are good, but the ultra-wide and telephoto cameras lag behind

The Galaxy S26 FE’s camera loadout has a 50MP main rear lens as its centerpiece. You also have 12MP ultra-wide and 8MP 3x telephoto cameras on the back, as well as a 12MP selfie camera embedded in the display. This is the same basic setup as the Galaxy S25 FE, and also what you'll find on the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus, except that the more expensive phones get a higher-resolution 10MP zoom camera instead.

Our first example is a main camera shot of some brightly colored buildings in London’s Soho neighborhood. It’s a tricky one for any camera to balance due to the shaded shopfronts on the left side and the sky and brightly lit building in the center and right side. The Galaxy S26 FE still has some detail to offer in the shadowed brickwork, but Samsung’s strength in bright colors is on full display on the other half of this particular image.

Keeping with the main camera but looking out at the London Eye at night, we see another strong attempt from the Galaxy S26 FE. There’s some softness in the details, but the balance of colors between the lights and the night sky still makes for an appealing shot.

Looking across a sun-scorched park with the ultra-wide camera, we see a shot with plenty of scenery in it, with little to no distortion at the edges. The brightness and colors could use work, though, as even accounting for the patchy grass and overcast sky, things look overly drab.

The two shots of the church bell tower, one at 2x magnification using the S26 FE’s main camera and the other using the 3x telephoto camera, reveal how best to zoom in with this phone’s particular cameras. The in-sensor 2x zoom still keeps the subtleties of the colors and markings within the brickwork and foliage of the shot, thanks to the 50MP main sensor having plenty of pixels to spare even when zoomed in. However, while the telephoto camera has greater reach, the resulting image is darker and flatter, as you might expect from the lower-resolution sensor. It’s more of a trade-off than I’d like to see on a flagship phone’s zoom camera.

I’m normally a fan of Samsung selfies, but I’m not sure I like how the highlights are exposed in this particular shot. Samsung’s excellent portrait algorithm has applied the perfect level of bokeh to this image, however, cutting around my head, and especially my glasses, accurately and applying a gentle blur to the leaves behind.

Having gone through these samples, you’ll see that the Galaxy S26 FE’s photography potential is reasonable, at least for what are arguably the two most important cameras. For future generations of S FE, though, Samsung could do with upping its game if it wants to continue claiming this is a flagship product.

Samsung Galaxy S26 FE review: Performance

• The Exynos 2500 chip is a good performer, especially for graphics
• 8GB of RAM is limiting for a premium phone in 2026

Here’s an area where I was pleasantly surprised by the Galaxy S26 FE. Samsung’s own Exynos 2500 chipset sits inside the S26 FE, rather than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip that basically all the other top Samsungs of 2026 are using. But that hasn’t stopped the S26 FE from turning in some decent scores.

As the table below reveals, the Exynos 2500 lags behind slightly in CPU single-core results, but is on par with or ahead of the pack on the rest of the tests. It’s a long way out in front on the Solar Bay benchmark, no doubt thanks to the Exynos’ GPU, which is well-suited to the ray-tracing graphics that this test focuses on.

Bearing only 8GB of RAM compared to the 12GB in other premium Samsung phones, the Galaxy S26 FE does struggle with multitasking or intensive apps. While you can still game on this phone happily, it’s not a handset you’ll want to do anything more practical on than standard browsing and messaging.

Samsung Galaxy S26 FE review: Battery

• Battery life day-to-day is good, while charging is plenty fast enough

Samsung offers the same 4,900mAh battery capacity in the Galaxy S26 FE as it does in the Galaxy S26 Plus. However, according to Samsung’s official battery estimates, the S26 FE doesn’t offer the same battery life, managing 29 hours of video playback compared to the S26 Plus’ 31 hours or the S26’s 30 hours.

For me, I used about 40% of the phone’s battery during a typical day’s use. This included some work, some photography, and some social media scrolling and video watching. The Galaxy S26 FE could definitely survive two days of regular use before needing to charge, as you would hope from a phone with this size of battery.

The Galaxy S26 FE is still equipped for 45W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. That’s the same wired speed as the S26 Plus and Ultra, but the wireless charging is slower, since the FE is not Qi2 compatible.

Using a 45W charger, Samsung estimates a 69% refill for the S26 FE in half an hour. In my own test, I found the S26 FE managed to fill to 43% in 15 minutes and to 100% in 58 minutes. Considering the battery life this phone can manage, a complete refuel in under an hour and getting over two-fifths full in a quarter-hour isn’t bad at all, even if faster options are out there.

How I tested the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE

I reviewed the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE over the course of two weeks as a work phone, using it for writing stories, answering emails and messages, watching video and playing games. I did this both at home and on the move with a SIM card installed.

Specific tests included running Geekbench 6 CPU benchmarks and 3DMark graphics benchmarks, a charging speed test using a compatible third-party charger, the taking of hundreds of photos across all of the S26 FE’s cameras to test image quality, and the careful monitoring of battery drain during use to figure out how reasonable the manufacturer’s battery life promises are.

Bentley has been teasing its debut all-electric model for months now, revealing tasty morsels about its orchestral synthesized engine notes, and futuristic styling inspired by the EXP 15 Concept Car, but we finally have the full details.

Based on Porsche’s PPE architecture (they all belong to the Volkswagen Group, after all), the upcoming Torcal will measure five meters long, making it slightly shorter than a Bentayga, and will borrow many of the chassis, suspension and powertrain components from its Porsche sibling.

Bentley doesn’t like too many mentions of the shared underpinnings, so has made a big deal about its “bold new design language, rooted in Bentley’s DNA”.

Expect an imposing illuminated front grille, sculpted surfaces and powerful rear haunches.

It looks as if Bentley’s idea of an electrified SUV just ate a Continental GT and hasn't digested it yet, but that’s no bad thing. It is the antithesis of Ferrari’s approach with the Luce — that’s to say Torcal looks and feels reassuringly Bentley.

As for the powertrain, the dual-motor setup makes the Torcal the most powerful Bentley ever, with a whopping 876bhp in the range-topping S model.

That’s not quite the 1,140hp of the monstrous Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric, but will be sufficient for a 2.8-second sprint to 60mph from rest in the sportier S version — enough to embarrass many supercars.

Bentley says it wants the Torcal to be used “year-round” so offers a massive 113kWh battery pack that delivers a range of up to 375 miles.

Better still, it can be charged at speeds of up to 400kW, meaning a 10-80% top-up session takes less than 20 minutes, potentially.

Analysis: the sound of the future

The British marque has scrapped its plans to go all-electric by 2030, instead opting to offer a selection of powertrains for customers.

After all, it is synonymous with booming V8 and V12 engines, which have historically delivered restrained but potent soundtracks to many models.

Not wanting to lose this USP in its debut EV, Bentley has turned to real instruments — drums, viola and bass guitar — to create what it refers to as the “Bentley Dynamic Symphony”, which is supposed to represent the subtle variations and tiny imperfections of a big V8 engine.

This “human-generated” soundtrack will provide aural feedback to the driver as the revs rise, becoming louder in Sport mode.

Apparently, even the indicator note stems from a recording of hammers striking leather in the Bentley workshop, while the touchscreen feedback noises are taken from the sound of a crystal glass.

Naturally, the interior is festooned with physical knurled controls and dials, while a special Comfort Mode within the infotainment offering delivers fewer distractions, while the option of a digital detox sees all but the most essential information hidden to allow attention to move away from screens.

According to sources, prices start at £173,300 (around $230,00/AU$326,000) for the Torcal or £199,300 (around $263,000/AU$375,000 for the Torcal S, and first deliveries are expected in Summer 2027.

A false intelligence assessment nearly triggered a US military invasion of a Chinese vessel after AI-assisted analysis wrongly identified its cargo.

The report circulated during the Iran conflict and prompted preparations to intercept the vessel before officials discovered serious problems with its underlying information.

Sources told CNN that armed personnel were preparing to board while military aircraft supported preparations, creating a potentially dangerous confrontation between major powers.

AI-assisted analysis produced the mistaken assessment

The episode began when an analyst examined intelligence concerning the ship's manifest and used a chatbot to interpret information.

Sources said the system combined publicly available material with classified signals information before producing an incorrect assessment about the vessel's cargo.

The analyst subsequently used AI again to prepare the findings in a standard intelligence format that was distributed among military officials.

Officials only examined the underlying information shortly before the planned operation, revealing that the reported cargo identification was wrong.

The source described the assessment as “entirely false,” while CNN reported that another source said it “almost started a war.”

The exact material that the chatbot misidentified has not been disclosed publicly, leaving important details about the original error unavailable.

The Pentagon and the military command responsible for Pacific special operations did not provide comments on the incident.

The episode comes as the US military expands its use of AI tools across intelligence, operations, administration, and battlefield decision-making.

In January, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced an AI strategy intended to accelerate deployment across military missions and organizational functions.

“We will unleash experimentation, eliminate bureaucratic barriers, focus our investments and demonstrate the execution approach needed to ensure we lead in military AI,” Hegseth said.

The strategy includes programs for intelligence work, operational planning, enterprise functions, and wider access to generative AI systems.

The department later said more than 1.3 million personnel had used GenAI.mil, generating tens of millions of prompts within five months.

The incident exposes a difficult verification problem

The reported mistake involved more than an inaccurate chatbot response because its output entered a process used for consequential military decisions.

Once incorrect information appeared in a formal assessment, officials receiving the document had to determine whether its underlying evidence supported the conclusion.

There is no information on which verification procedures were applied before the assessment reached personnel preparing the maritime operation.

It also remains unclear whether the analyst knew that the chatbot had introduced an incorrect interpretation before the report circulated.

According to CNN, different military organizations use different AI systems, while officials have described varying practices for checking information produced by them.

That fragmented environment makes it difficult to identify a single verification process governing every AI-assisted intelligence product across the military.

AI tools can make military analysis faster and easier, yet their potential for significant errors requires strict human verification before operational decisions.

That need becomes more important when intelligence concerns a rival country, where an incorrect assessment involving a military vessel could trigger retaliation.

A mistaken attack could then escalate tensions between the countries involved, potentially producing a wider armed confrontation or prolonged political and military conflict.

As soon as I laid eyes on the pint-sized, two-wheeled bot, I was smitten. It darted quickly from place to place and, as Beni turned its square head in my direction and 'looked' at me with its two large and luminous eyes, I felt it peering into my lonely soul. Finally, a robot companion that wouldn't terrify me with grabby, slow-moving hands, or crowd me with uncanny valley legs and torsos.

Unveiled a few months ago by Mondo Robotics and set to arrive in consumer hands in October, the self-balancing Mondo Beni was initially intended as a child's toy, but it had features — in particular a 4K 60fps camera that can follow you around — that appealed to creators. So Mondo pivoted, and now the $799 rolling robot is marketed as "your first camera robot".

In addition to the camera, which can also shoot 1080p 120fps slow motion, Beni features a pair of sensor cameras that provide a 150-degree field of view for tracking and obstacle avoidance. I watched as Beni's handlers used the iOS app to select subjects for Beni to track, and then Beni followed them around like a very obedient puppy dog. One Mondo exec described Beni as "a ground drone".

Beni is surprisingly resilient. When someone kicked the robot over, it instantly righted itself back onto its two rubber wheels as it shook its blocky head and made a little noise.

Programming cuteness

One of the things that makes Beni so darn cute is all the canned (Beni does not learn) animations and audio. It has about a dozen of each, and they give the little white and orange bot a distinct personality. There's a sort of programmed indomitable spirit; nothing can keep Beni down or stop it.

It can effortlessly jump (up to 10 inches), flip, and backflip. For now, those moves are triggered either via the app or a wearable remote control with a super-easy-to-use joystick. Mondo would eventually like Beni to jump over obstacles as it sees them.

I used the intuitive wearable remote to drive Beni and, with a press, make the little robot flip. There's also a big red button to stop Beni or, with long presses, have it squat down or stand back up.

Beni starts with 32GB of onboard storage for collecting video of you as it tracks you on a walk or run (up to 17.9mph), or as it follows your pet around (assuming the pet doesn't attack it or run away in horror). There's also a built-in microSD card slot for additional storage.

You can take good-length walks or runs with Beni, because it runs (or rolls) for an hour and a half on a charge. There's a removable battery pack on the back with light indicators to show you Beni's life… er… juice level.

Beni ships with a pair of relatively smooth rubber wheels, but you can buy the combo pack and get some accessories, including knobbier off-road wheels that are better equipped to handle dirt roads and hills.

Beni arrives ready for you

One of the things I like about Beni is that it's not like a robot kit. The wheels, for instance, are easy to pop on and off, and nothing about Beni looks like it was made from an old Erector Set.

And, for better or worse, there is no dev kit. This is in contrast to the equally cute Pollen Robotics Microduck, another white and orange bipedal robot that can hang out with you (and use roller skates), but it's a bit more DIY than SMF (So Much Fun). Where Beni looks polished, the $399 Microduck looks a little more hand-built.

Beni can hear and follow some simple commands. The animations — a head turn here, a shake there — help it look like it's actually listening to you.

Beni's innate adorability might help overcome the obvious privacy concerns. After all, the robot is no taller than an average chihuahua, and its camera is at ground level. To film you as it goes, Beni will be looking up. This might make some people around you uncomfortable.

Maybe keep Beni to your solitary walks or runs, or make sure everyone around you knows that those cute Beni eyes are an indication that it might be filming.

I picked Beni up and found it surprisingly hefty, about the weight of an overfed puppy. It's cute to watch but not at all cuddly to hold. In fact, company execs told me that while there are lots of warnings about picking up Beni, the robot has no way of knowing if your fingers gets caught in, say, one of the joints. It might be best to keep Beni away from small children.

All this capability, power, and cuteness comes at a price. Beni starts at $799 in the US (it will ship to the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain, but pricing for those regions has not been set) and starts shipping in October. It's not the ultimate robot, but Beni has the potential to captivate on looks and capability alone.

But that doesn't mean you should dismiss the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra as it's a killer Android phone with a camera suite to rival Apple's finest. Equally, the Google Pixel 10a is very much a top budget phone pick, given how much it offers for its price.

While both models have had a price hike, and there's not a lot that's changed in on the design front, there are some tweaks to make the new Pro stand out a little from the crowd.

The new A20 Pro chip will power through anything that's thrown at it, though casual users might not notice much of an upgrade over the iPhone 17 Pro, but reviewer Jacob Krol said folks who might be importing a load of 4K video will see the upgrade in performance. A new vapor chamber will keep things cool evne when the performance is ramping up.

Speaking of seeing, if you're someone who uses their iPhone in a bright place, then you may appreciate the anti-reflective coating for the display. it also sports a smaller Dynamic Island too.

Battery life remains broadly similar to last generation, with Krol getting some 30 hours of use out of both 18 Pro models. For the data hungry, in our Future Labs' battery test, the iPhone 18 Pro lasted 16 hours and 17 minutes, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max lasted for 18 hours and 27 minutes. Wired charging has also got a boost and can juice up the battery to 50% in 15 minutes.

The most notable upgrade comes in the form of the main 48-megapixel camera getting a mechanical variable aperture, adjustable from ƒ/1.48 to ƒ/4.0. This should give budding photographers the scope to better work with light, especially in low-light conditions, and experiment with greater control over depth of field.

Baked-in access to pro control to let you adjust aperture, shutter speed, white balance, and more, builds upon this camera flexibility. But even if you don't want to dive deep into such controls, Krol noted the new iPhones punch above their predecessors with "better details, more natural blurring and focus points, and excellent highlights."

Siri AI also arrived with the iphne 18 Pro models, alongside iOS 27. The latter is more refinement over iOS 26, but the former offers more intelligence across apps and promises to serve up more personal contextualised data. It's not perfect yet, and is only available in the US at the time of writing, but its good to see Apple push deeper with AI on iPhones.

In conclusion, the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max are class-leading smartphones that should be at the top of any Apple fans list if they have the money and don't have an iPhone 17 Pro.

The best Android

Iteration might be the name of the game with the latest flagship Galaxy phone, but the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra takes a winning formula and refines it even further. It’s one of the most powerful, capable, and feature-packed phones you can buy today. A champion in many areas, it stands out as offering the best suite of cameras on any Android phone and perhaps any smartphone overall.

This generation, the Galaxy S26 Ultra sports a slightly more rounded design than its predecessor, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which makes it nicer to hold in one hand. Titanium is ditched in favor of the lighter, but still tough, Armor Aluminum. You’ll still find a selection of attractive if muted color options, and the inclusion of an S Pen and port to store it.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra's body holds a sharp 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with bold colors and a refresh rate that goes from 1Hz to 120Hz. But the biggest innovation here is the new Privacy Display that can switch off pixels in the screen to limit what can be see on the display if you're not looking at it directly. This can keep snoopers at bay, and can be customized to work on specific features, such as notifications, than just the while display. Expect others to copy this flagship feature from Samsung.

A snappy display needs a snappy chipset, and with the new Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy and either 12GB or 16GB of RAM, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is more powerful than ever. That power boost might not be noticeable for all but the most die-hard of users. But our Future Labs testing the Galaxy S26 Ultra basically matches and beats the iPhone 17 Pro Max in Geekbench 6.5, with a single-core score of 3,766 and a multi-core score of 11,537 to the flagship iPhone’s respective scores of 3,871 and 9,829. So with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, you can rest assured you’re getting a lot of performance.

The biggest selling point of the Galaxy S26 Ultra is its quad-rear camera array that offers two optical zoom range options, a sharp ultra-wide camera, and a 200MP main camera. While this is the same setup as the Galaxy S25 Ultra, wider apertures on the main camera and 5x telephoto camera allow for better low-light photography and video capture. Improvements on the software side and AI features means the already excellent cameras of the Ultra phones are even better.

You'll be snapping away for some time too, as in our battery rundown testing, the Galaxy S26 Ultra lasted a massive 16 hours and 10 minutes. That’s not quite as long as the 17 hours plus of the iPhone 17 Pro Max, but the Ultra phone has a bigger screen to power, and its battery life is more than enough to get your through a day of heavy use with some juice left in the tank. Charging is fast, with it being able to hit 77% in 30 minutes in or testing.

With the same starting price as its predecessor that Galaxy S26 Ultra is arguably solid value for a flagship phone that’s packed with features and an innovative display. It’s far from cheap and not a slam-dunk of an upgrade if you have the S25 Ultra. But for people looking to upgrade from older phones or who want one of the best Android phones with the best camera array, the Galaxy S26 Ultra justified its price tag.

The best budget phone

The Pixel 10a delivers typical Pixel strengths like great photos and useful AI, backed by a seven-year update promise, but wraps it all in a surprisingly bland design. Following on from the Pixel 9a, the Pixel 10a features a plain desing, but now with a rear camera module that sits flush with the phone's back. Fun colors complete the package.

Design aside, the 6.3-inch OLED 'Actua' display wins our approval, being excellent for the price – very bright and colorful, and has 120Hz refresh rate. To help protect the display against scratches and drops, the Pixel 10a’s display uses Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, which is an upgrade from the Gorilla Glass 3 used on the 9a.

As this is a Pixel phone, it's cameras a key selling point. Photos shot on the camera array hold up well even against the Pixel 10 Pro in terms of color and balance, though there are no big upgrades over the 9a. The new Camera Coach feature that uses AI and haptics to nudge users into taking what the Pixel 10a reckons is the best possible photo is a neat touch.

Speaking of a lack of upgrades, the Pixel 10a uses the same Tensor G4 chip as its predecessor. This provides adequate performance for daily tasks and runs most AI features, but it's not as fast as competitors and can feel a bit sluggish in more demanding tasks like image editing or summarization. Seven years of software and security updated should help keep the Pixel 10a running nicely for some time.

It's also business as usual for the battery, with a 5,100mAh pack being the same capacity as the Pixel 9a. But the Pixel 10a performed well in Future PLC’s lab battery test, lasting 15 hours and 16 minutes, which is more than two hours longer than the Pixel 9a in the same test. For the money, that's a solid battery life.

Sticking with the same $499 / £499 / AU$849 price as the 9a, the Pixel 10a offers solid value, especially considering the seven-year update commitment. However, like previous A-series phones, expect potential discounts down the line, making it potentially an even better bargain if you wait.

The best foldable phone

Don't let the 'Ultra' moniker fool you; the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is an iterative upgrade on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 it replaces on this list. It's not the most exciting upgrade, but it does see the best foldable phone get that bit better, securing Samsung's supremacy in this field.

The design has been refined so that the Fold 8 Ultra unfolds flat, and it's thinner than its predecessor. This means the excellent 8-inch foldable display with its dynamic refresh rate is virtually creaseless, making the foldable phone even better to use as a mini tablet.

Despite the thinness, the Fold 8 Ultra still rocks a 5,000mAh battery, which in reviewer Lance Ulanoff's experience "gave me, with constant, all-day, mixed use in bright sunlight, 12.5 hours of battery life'. In our lab tests, the Fold 8 Ultra delivered a solid 14 hours.

That endurance is handy given the the Fold 8 Ultra has the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy. This chip chews through most tasks and gaming, though the back can get a little hot under heavy loads. This is still the foldable phone for proper productivity in our opinion and experience.

The trio of rear cameras is great too. They've not been upgraded much on the hardware side, other than the ultra-wide camera now getting a 50MP sensor for crisper expansive shots. But improvements in image processing, along with a host of AI features, means the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra can compete with the best camera phones. A little wrinkle for Ulanoff was the 10MP 3x optical zoom lens feels a little miserly on the optical zoom front when others can go further.

At $2,099.99, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra commands an even higher price than the phone it replaces; in no small part to increased memory prices. It's a hard price to swallow given you can get a very good laptop for that amount. But if you want the very best in foldable phones, look no further.

The best phone for students and young people

Choosing a phone for students and younger people is tricky, but the well-honed App Store, device ecosystem, and ease of use, mean we're choosing the iPhone 17.

How we test

We've only included phones on this list that have been thoroughly tested. We perform tests both in our Future Labs and in the real world by our expert reviewers. We test a host of main features on a phone, then we dive deeper to discover all of the hidden goodies.

Our testing will push the phones rigorously for battery life and charging times, processor speed and performance, and especially for camera and video recording capabilities. And we make sure that phones deliver on the promises and claims they make. If Samsung says a phone charges in 30 minutes, we time it to make sure.

We will also compare phones of similar price and quality to each other to get a feel for how the phone we're actively reviewing holds up against others in the market.

With the US midterm elections around the corner and AI data centers increasingly becoming part of political discourse, new Pew Research Center reporting has revealed Americans' attitudes toward these facilities have become even more negative as 2026 continues.

Surveying more than 10,500 US adults, the study found only 4% thought data centers are a positive thing for the environment, home energy costs and local residents' quality of life.

On the flip side, more than half (54%) thought they were 'mostly bad' for the environment, up from 39% in January 2026, around half a year prior, showing a marked increase just in a short space of time.

US citizens are increasingly turning against AI data centers

In fact, Americans believe US data centers are worse for home energy costs (50%), quality of life (49%) and local tax revenue (21%) than before.

And with hyperscalers all promising to add hundreds or, sometimes thousands, of operational jobs on top of thousands of temporary construction jobs locally, residents are even starting to disbelieve these promises. Interestingly, the proportion of nationals perceiving data centers as mostly bad for local jobs rose nine percentage points, from 15% at the beginning of 2026 to 24% halfway through the year.

Perceptions are now mostly split, with 24% seeing projects as mostly bad for jobs and 22% seeing them as mostly good.

This still leaves a considerable proportion of Americans – 18% to 32% depending on issue – uncertain about the impact of data centers.

Opinions are shifting

Today, three in five US citizens say they'd either be not too comfortable, or not comfortable at all, with a new data center operating in their area. Rural inhabitants are more likely than before to have negative perceptions, likely with more projects being approved for extra-urban locations where space is at less of a premium.

The study also delves into the political implications, confirming that Americans are increasingly unsettled by data centers right across the board, be it by age, gender, education levels or political party. While Democrats are more likely overall to have negative feelings, supporters of both major parties have actually become more unhappy throughout 2026.

Arguably one of the biggest findings of this report isn't necessarily where the split lies and whether Americans are worried about environmental, social or economic impacts – it's the sheer pace that negative sentiments have grown in little more than just half a year.

All of this is, of course, playing out during an important time for the US politically.

While President Trump continues to advocate for AI and data center buildouts in an effort to be a global leader, more and more states and regions are imposing temporary bans to reassess legislation and local impacts, including Texas itself – the home of OpenAI's massive Stargate project.

Its latest reality game show, Wonka’s Golden Ticket, hasn’t even been on the platform for 24 hours, and it's already found itself in the midst of scathing criticism for, you guessed it, its controversial use of AI.

To put it into context, the show takes inspiration from the beloved 1971 movie musical with Gene Wilder, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. In the game show, a group of contestants is thrust into a series of themed challenges filmed on elaborate sets based on the original movie’s fantastical aesthetic.

The first seven episodes are available to stream now, and the final two episodes will be released on September 30 where the champions will be revealed.

From its first teasers, I knew the show had already begun its downward spiral before it even saw the light of day. For me, Netflix game shows are nothing more than money-grabbers and devoid of any quality, and to those who held out hope for the show’s survival, you were very naïve indeed.

It was over before it started

When the best streaming service announced the show in the summer, it wasn’t just its cheap and gaudy attempt at resurrecting the movie’s familial charm that had viewers concerned. It was when Netflix unveiled that the show’s host would be an off-screen AI-generated recreation of Wilder’s voice — yes, the OG chocolatier — that the boycott really took shape.

What’s shocking is that, surprisingly, Wilder’s estate actually granted Netflix the right to use an AI recreation of his theatrical Wonka voice. Even so, we thought this decision was going too far. I was particularly upset; the original movie is a childhood staple of mine.

As you can imagine, the AI-generated voiceover is by far the most criticized aspect of the show. In addition to an eye-watering 20% score on Rotten Tomatoes, major outlets such as Variety and The Guardian haven’t taken well to the AI host, with the latter saying ‘it sounds stilted, indefinably wrong somehow’. That’s tame compared to what viewers are saying.

Despite the legal permission Wilder’s estate gave to Netflix, it’s still unfathomable to some that it was given a pass in the first place — including this user on X, who called Netflix "disgusting".

Equally, Reddit is full of posts featuring the same level of revulsion. One user was left asking, ‘Does Netflix do anything decent these days?’, to which another user replied, "[Netflix] has always been quantity over quality". My thoughts exactly.

A sickly streaming experience

I’ve never committed to any of Netflix’s game shows, but in the case of Wonka’s Golden Ticket, I streamed the first episode to see how much it lived up to its car crash reviews. The only thing I’ll say is, don’t waste your time.

It’s clear that Netflix has spent quite a bit of money on the production (the prize money alone equates to roughly $3 million, not to mention its sets and engineering must’ve also cost a fortune), but money doesn’t buy everything — not even a near-accurate AI version of Gene Wilder.

While there’s a slightly replicated cadence, the uncanny valley-ness of it all leaves you feeling rather sickly. It’s emotionless, robotic, and completely lacking the bold infectiousness that Wilder brought to the original role. It’s not just that; the structure and overall approach are just as disjointed.

Unlike the original five children who first stepped into the chaotic world of the chocolate factory, Netflix introduces 12 pairs of contestants, totalling 24 players, of which remembering all their names and relationships is a chore in itself. But the icing on the cake is the roster of false and unnatural reactions that are played to the camera during both the challenges and confessional segments. This isn’t The Traitors, this is a chocolate factory. It’s not that serious.

Aren't CD players having a moment, though? They can be ultra-luxe, super-cool, and with aptX Bluetooth for your earbuds, heavy and furnished with both analog and digital inputs, fully transparent like some sort of musical trophy, or even inspired by Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and available in neon orange.

It feels as if there's a vaguely retro player for everyone — audiophiles included. TechRadar even published a roundup of 9 of the coolest new CD player releases just last month, in an effort to keep on top of them all.

And now, a new option from FiiO is joining the party! One of our favorite 'affordable audiophile' companies (most notably in DACs, but FiiO's been branching out lately) has just revealed the DP11 CD player. And this is no CD Walkman — it is designed as a hi-fi or desktop companion, allowing you to add CD playback to your hi-fi system or compatible active speaker system.

The DP11's USB socket also allows for easy ripping of CDs (no laptop required), directly to a USB stick for lossless rips of your favorite albums.

If you don't know who Twiggy is, look her up (and be thankful of your youth).

Of course, FiiO is quick to explain that the extensive output options on the DP11 mean it's an ideal partner for streaming headphone amplifiers such as its own FiiO K17 or dedicated speaker amplifiers such as its fabulous new analog tube amp, called the FiiO EA13. Oh, and for a truly compact desktop headphone system, you could always add the FiiO K13 R2R DAC.

Why do any of this? Because CD sales revenue was up 58% in the first half of 2026 (and 45% in volume) in the US, according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Also, the success of portable CD players — I can't believe I didn't mention FiiO's own DM15 R2R portable shiny spinner! — proves that music lovers aren't against buying new, pristine CDs as well as digging out their old (possibly scratched and skipping?) collections. And listening to a full album in CD quality is one of life's great pleasures.

The DP11 boasts a 3.7-inch screen and what FiiO assures us is a "quiet tray loading mechanism" to complete the retro look, and you even get a dedicated remote control as well as MQA-CD bitstream passthrough (aka a setting that forces the CD player to output the raw, unaltered digital audio data from an MQA-encoded CD directly to an external digital-to-analog converter, or DAC).

The FiiO DP11 will launch in October priced at a rather palatable $185 / €184.99 (so around £140 or AU$265), and if you want it to look like the main image, you might want to buy it alongside the FiiO Modular Hi-Fi Device Storage Rack.

Launching on November 3, this latest expansion takes agents back to New York City and deep into Central Park and the Upper West Side of the metropolis in a campaign, overworld, and endgame that is laced with horror and mystery.

While the dark zones in Tom Clancy's The Division from 2016 bordered Central Park, this is, as Ubisoft says in the presentation, "a part of New York City we've never explored." So, for long-time players of the series such as myself and hopefully some new players, it represents a thrill in and of itself. The bordering area of the Upper West Side is also new.

The setting and story provide the backdrop for something much darker, and even with a genuine horror lean that we've never seen from The Division games, it has really intrigued me.

With rumors and whispers abounding about what happened to and what's in Central Park, agents will discover the history of how the outbreak affected this iconic location via an unreliable and mysterious narrator. You'll be able to do missions in any order, says Ubisoft, and explore the open-world environment to your heart's content.

In terms of tangible action and gameplay-related goodness that the DLC is adding, the map of Central Park and the Upper West Side is an open-world environment that's roughly twice the size of the Battle for Brooklyn DLC. Then there's also going to be a new endgame — which sounds a bit roguelike-y: "each run different, each run deadlier" describes Ubisoft — and six new skill variants inspired by the horrors of the park, to name a couple of other features.

A deluxe edition of Echoes of Central Park will also contain skins and items for agents looking to embrace all that the DLC offers.

All in, this looks like a really intriguing and compelling DLC package and one I can't wait to devour as a long-time player of the game. It's a famous area of New York City, and its horror-infused campaign already has its hooks in me.

But that's not all...

In anticipation of Echoes of Central Park, if you're yet to jump into the brilliant looter shooter, then you can play Tom Clancy's The Division 2 for free all this weekend, from September 24 through September 28.

Also, hot on the heels of the Central Park DLC, though with no specific date given yet, Ubisoft has confirmed that full crossplay between platforms is coming to The Division 2.

Data security company Forcepoint has revealed a major issue with AI agents, but unlike many AI security threats, it doesn't involve stealing data or compromising the model.

Instead, if left to its own devices, Forcepoint says agentic AI could actually consume excessive amounts of compute, tokens, API calls or other resources if sufficient safeguards and limits aren't in place, leading to higher-than-anticipated enterprise cloud bills.

Moreover, the company's research argues that the problem has become more important as AI has become more complex.

Enterprises warned to keep an eye on AI agent compute usage

The result of overwhelmingly complex agentic AI systems is that one single and apparently simply user request could lead to tens or hundreds of downstream operations. Forcepoint labels this as 'unbound consumption'.

Crucially, the analysis found that high compute and token consumption could actually be pretty hard to detect and existing security protocols are unlikely to pick it up, because there doesn't even need to be an attacker for the impacts to take place. All you need is a badly configured automation or a long-running AI session to accidentally lead to runaway costs.

However, Forcepoint worries that attackers can indeed step in to exploit this vulnerability, with malicious users generating huge workloads and consuming massive compute for their own benefit after obtaining an enterprise's credentials, letting them pick up the bill.

Solutions can be as complex as agentic AI itself, but they're now more necessary than ever. Firstly, companies should set budgets at multiple, finer levels, such as API keys, individual users and teams. They should also have greater monitoring powers over where costs are attributed to.

But Forcepoint also calls for agentic circuit breakers to prevent workload and costs from compounding.

"Security teams rarely watch cloud billing dashboards. Finance rarely reviews prompt patterns or agent design," security researcher Jyotika Singh wrote in an urge for enterprises to take the risk more seriously.

Rockstar Games has announced the Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, a premium collector's box featuring exclusive merchandise and no game.

The Vice City Collection features "all the essentials for a good time, inspired by Leonida’s hit TV show, Macca the Gator" and is a limited-edition merch box launching November 19 for £349 / $399 (about AU$660, but no Australian availability has been announced yet).

The Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection leaked earlier today, but fans initially believed it to be a new collector's edition, which would include the game.

A GTAForums post, shared by reliable leaker 'videotech' on X, discovered a listing on Rockstar Games' store website for the GTA 6: The Goodtime State - Vice City Collection.

The same leaker also attached a long list of GTA 6 merchandise, but it's now understood that the merch is included in The Goodtime State - Vice City Collection.

The best for quiet operation

The Hydragun is a great all-round massage gun if you want something that feels premium without being overengineered or overcomplicated. It’s powerful enough to work through tight, post-workout muscles and everyday stiffness, but it’s more about controlled, comfortable relief than aggressive deep-tissue pounding.

One of its biggest strengths is how easy it is to live with. It feels comfortable and easy to manage in the hand, it doesn’t vibrate harshly, and is simple to use without needing to think too much about settings or modes. It just gets on with the job of easing soreness after exercise or a long day at your desk.

Our tester Sharmishta was impressed with the Hydragun's noise level. You can use it in a shared space or while watching TV without it feeling intrusive, which makes it a lot more practical for daily use than louder, more intense devices.

That said, it does come with a fairly premium price tag, so it’s not the cheapest option out there. You’re paying for the build quality and the refined feel rather than flashy extras. As its name implies, this massage gun from HoMedics wouldn't be out of place in the hands of a physiotherapist. Of all the machines we've tested (including those that didn't make this roundup), it's the one that delivered the strongest, most assertive massage – and when you really need it, the optional heated attachment is bliss, aiding in helping tough muscles relax.

All of that comes at a price, and this is also the most expensive massage gun here at £299.99 (about $410 / AU$550) – though it's sometimes available at a slight discount when bought direct from HoMedics. At the time of writing this particular model is only sold in the UK, but the Therapist Select Hot & Cold Percussion Massager available in the US is similar.

You get an excellent choice of attachments (there are six to choose from), and each one fits in easily with a pushing/twisting action. They stay firmly in place, even on higher power settings, but are easily removed when you're done. The HoMedics Pro Physio Massage Gun has a runtime of around five hours, or three and a half if you're using the heated function.

It's definitely an investment, but if you really want to treat yourself, or have a partner who'll be using it as well, you may be able to justify spending the extra cash.
